Importance Of Wellness And Balanced Living And How It Can See You Through The Tough Times

Health and Wellness is about having an enhanced quality of life, personal growth, and potential through our positive lifestyle behaviors and attitudes. We can boost our health by taking right responsibility of our health as well as well-being by having the right physical activity, an appropriate nutrition, stress-coping methods, and an optimistic outlook in life.

Wellness is an ongoing lifestyle which requires making healthy choices and taking responsibility for your life. Wellness is about the whole person, about balancing the different dimensions of life and health. However, It certainly isn’t rocket science to be able to understand how to live a healthy life; most know the basics but there is more to it, isn’t there? Lifestyles are becoming increasingly high-paced due to advances in technology and higher cost of living which ultimately results in stress, binge eating, and roller-coaster emotions which leads to our health being neglected.

A healthy diet consists of high quality foods that are organic as much as possible. Eat lots of whole grains & vegetables, then fruits, proteins, healthy fats & water. Now this information is not new to most. We all know what we “should” be eating. Most times if we are not sustaining a healthy diet there is some kind of block or barrier holding us back from meeting our health goals.

To fully achieve balance a person must also love the work they do, especially since we spend so much time working nowadays. And just as important, one must find the physical activity that excites them such as running, playing tennis, dancing or even hula hoop to keep your blood circulating. There is strong scientific evidence showing the connection of the body and mind, hence maintaining healthy diet and exercise habits is a major step in the right direction to improved health. The importance of mental and emotional health is largely underexposed and should be considered just as important as physical health.


Wellness is the integration of body, mind, and spirit-the appreciation that everything you do, and think, and feel, and believe has an impact on your state of health and the health of the world. It is the right and privilege of everyone. Wellness is first and foremost a choice to assume responsibility for the quality of your life.
