Medical marijuana is a term that denotes the use of essential marijuana extracts or the whole plant to treat a symptom or disease. Marijuana plant has not been recognized or approved by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Scientists have studied the medical marijuana uses. The plant can be used to relieve the condition.

Furthermore, marijuana contains a chemical that stops the spread of cancer. Some studies suggest that the plant tends to slow down the development of a certain category of cancer. Besides, marijuana can be used to relieve discomfort from arthritis. It promotes sleep, reduces inflammation, and alleviates pain. Consequently, it helps relieve discomfort and pain for people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

Marijuana has also been shown to protect the brain after stroke. It reduces the size of the area the stroke has affected. Furthermore, the medical marijuana use includes the treatment of chronic pain. The plant helps alleviate the pain from various types of disorders and injuries. And it also treats inflammatory bowel disease. Therefore, patients with this kind of illness like ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease could benefit from the use of marijuana.
